Product Description
The new Uniden BCD325P2 offers APCO 25 Phase I and II digital capability. For those who like GPS scanning, a feature no other manufacturer offers, you can now enable and disable not only Systems but Groups as well depending on your location (the optional GPS antenna that we sell is required).
DMR , ProVoice & NXDN for your BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 scanner are now available!
Now
available for "P2" series scanners is the ability to monitor
unencrypted DMR/MotoTRBO and EDACS ProVoice. This option allows
monitoring these exciting systems if they are used in your area.
ProVoice is used by many public safety systems around the country.
DMR/TRBO is used mostly by business users but is also used by many
public safety and local government systems.
If your area uses DMR/TRBO or ProVoice then these (paid) upgrades will help you increase your monitoring ability.
Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: Does the Uniden BCD396P2 support digital police and fire communications? A: Yes. The BCD396P2 supports P25 Phase I digital systems, which are widely used by police, fire, and other public safety agencies. With an optional upgrade, it can also receive DMR and NXDN systems. It does not support P25 Phase II or encrypted communications.
Q: Is the BCD396P2 good for simulcast systems?
A: The BCD396P2 can struggle in areas with heavy simulcast distortion, which is common in larger cities. If you are in a simulcast area, a model like the SDS100 or SDS200 may perform better. However, in non-simulcast areas, the BCD396P2 works very well.
Q: Do I need to program the BCD396P2 before using it? A: Yes. The BCD396P2 requires programming to receive local systems. You can program it using compatible software and a computer, or choose a professional programming service to have it set up and ready to use when it arrives.
