Using a police scanner at a NASCAR (tm), Indy or other auto or truck race, or at really any sporting event, can be great fun. At the auto races you hear the drivers talking with the pit crews, spotters, team chiefs and others and you'll also hear the race officials, track security and more. Listening to the action on a portable scanner radio puts you into the heart of the action, listening in the actual race strategy as it happens. There's nothing like it.
