siren app December 5, 2020 Reviewer: steve from NJ United States   Biggest thing that drew me to this scanner is so I can control and listen thru my cell phone and ipad. They refuse to update the app and doesn't work right. No one in uniden will answer your emails on the subject. You should stop advertising this feature. I have had this scanner for 2 years and still waiting for them to fix the app! I feel that I have been ripped off! Was this review helpful to you?

BCD536HP Review June 9, 2020 Reviewer: Christopher from Pennsylvania, United States   This scanner definitely did not disappoint right out of the box! The easily updated database has made it a lot easier to get listening right away. I thought it was a really nice bonus that a DC 12V plug was also included in the box, which adds some flexibility if need be.  For someone that hasn't had a new scanner for some time, it might take a little to get used to.  There are some things that are very intuitive, and some things that aren't.  Still trying to figure out the quick key functionality, for example.  My experience with this unit has me seriously considering adding the BCD436HP for portable use as well.  Audio quality is excellent. Also, I have been really happy with ScannerMaster for this purchase.  It was very refreshing to quickly get somebody knowledgeable on the phone to answer questions and discuss options so that I was certain I had everything I needed--and nothing that I didn't.  Service definitely makes a difference. Bcd536hp fast setup January 4, 2019 Reviewer: Dennis Everman from Fremont, NE United States   The zip code entry made easy setup and will give me time to learn favorites entries.  Love the wi-fi I pick it up on my tablet upstairs and use a Bluetooth earphone off  the tablet. Siren remote program can be a little suborn at times but it works for me.  Sentinel had the updates for my city since it only recently changed to phase 2 .  Sentinel worked for updating hardware and database real smooth. The Bearcat January 2, 2019 Reviewer: Delberto from Marion, OH   This is a fine scanner. Works as expected...better in many ways than the Homepatrol II that I'm replacing. A few suggestions for improvements: 1. Add a mute button. 2. Move location of volume knob. 3. Increase size of volume knob. 4. Allow option for color LED to remain on for duration of transmission. 5. Enable programming  across Wifi network. 6. Provide a version of Siren that runs on a PC. I'm using this as a tabletop unit. Design is best for mobile use. I added elevated rubber feet to accommodate bottom firing speaker. I would have bought a tabletop version if one was available.   Everything has worked well and setup was relatively easy using Sentinel. Was this review helpful to you?

Very User Friendly November 24, 2018 Reviewer: Steve Crumb from Ozark, AL United States   The 536hp is a very user friendly scanner.  You can program it "your favorites" with the Sentinel software.  Very easy to update the database and firmware.  Small learning curve for setting up the Quick Keys for your favorite systems and groups but it makes using the scanner a breeze.  This is a solid unit and I would recommend this scanner for the beginner and advanced users. The Bearcat BCD536HP Review July 4, 2018 Reviewer: jerry bailey from Quitman, GA United States   Quite disappointed with the scanner. If my grandson had not threw out he boxes when he was cleaning I would send it back,But I don't have the boxes it came in. But to the scanner, First the on/off /vol knob has a gritty like feeling when it is turned. Sometimes the scanner will sit for awhile not hearing anything. I can turn the knob back and forth a few times and the sound returns. and  the paint is coming off, heck it looks 5 years old.You can brush your finger nail across it and the paint comes right off. The face plate and the case  look like they don't fit tight. Like it has been opened and not put back right. So , with  that said when it is working it works very well, receives great. BCD536HP Awesome!! June 29, 2018 Reviewer: Tim from Illinois   This is the best digital scanner that I have every own. It pick up the system that I mainly listen that is a 800 megahertz system. It is very easy to program just enter your zip code an you are ready to go or you can set up a favorite list of what you want to hear. This is great scanner to add to my collection of scanners like the BCD436HP. Scanner Master is the best company.
