I just got this antenna for Fathers Day and WOW what an improvement on these bands ! I have been able to pick up a couple of things that my Diamond RH77CA wouldn't. I will be using this for railfaning for sure ! I have been able to pick up the local short line railroad a lot better with this. I noticed a lot more clarity on the SO and neighboring cities PD and FD as they are VHF. Does well on 800
I put this antenna on a GRE PSR-310.Does a real nice job of pulling in Railroad and Marine traffic and does a respectable job on VHF low band and UHF band fire traffic. It does fine on a EDACS 800 system coming off a mountain less than five miles away. On a weather channel it has a five bar signal strength, same as a Diamond RH-77CA even though it is shorter.
