The BCD536HP is Uniden's new flagship mobile scanner...which incorporates two firsts. Like the BCD436HP, it is the first standard mobile scanner to include the ease of use of the HomePatrol-style database; simply enter your zip code and away you go. But, the BCD536HP adds to that WiFi connectivity, allowing you to listen to and control your scanner using your smartphone or tablet...from anywhere in your home, vehicle, or around the world.

About our Set-up & Optimize Service
With Scanner Master's exclusive Set-up & Optimize service we see to it that your BCD536HP is fully updated and ready to use for your area, perfect for your own use and especially perfect for a gift. First we optimize the internal database by updating the frequency library, which changes daily. We will also check and install any firmware updates to the HomePatrol before the radio ships. (The firmware is the operating system for the radio which may have been updated or tweaked by the factory following its production in Asia.) Scanner Master will then build a Favorites List for the customer (based on the ship to address of your order), or for the area in which the scanner will be used if the customer specifies a different city and county (for example if the radio is given as a gift). Scanner Master will also pre-tune the radio by entering the end-users zip code. Note that this service will add approximately 7 to 14 business days for processing before the radio will be shipped.

(The benefit of this Favorites List work is that we insure that the most important data to the user is readily accessible as often times, if the database for the end user's area hasn't been completely prepared with what's known as "geo-tagging" then some or all of the local agencies will not activate for scanning. Scanner Master insures that this will not be the case.)

Great scanner.  Programming takes some getting used to however.  Not like anything I've ever had before.

The is an very excellent scanner. Pay no attention to the negative reviews where owners do not have the ability to figure how to use/program it to its full potential.
Anytime you have an advanced technical produce that has hundreds of advanced features you will always have people who do not have the intelligence to use it properly.
There is a learning curve involved if you want to do more than just plug in a zip code. This is expected and in my opinion part of the fun of discovering/learning all the great advanced features this scanner offers.
I have enjoyed tweaking all the settings to fine tune the scanner to the way I like it to operate.
If you want an extremely advanced scanner that will give you much joy and excellence by learning and tweaking advanced setting that other simple scanner do not offer, this is the scanner for you.

    Struggling February 1, 2016
Reviewer: James Brevelle from HOUSTON, TX United States
I am still finding it very difficult to understand all the workings of this scanner.  I can get past the Zip Code entry business, but still find it difficult getting around all the "Bells and Whistles" after that!  There needs to be more hands on videos showing all these Bells and whistles in more detail.  I have had numerous Uniden Scanners in the past and not had this much trouble getting around all the menus and really understanding them all. I have read all the manuals and watched all the videos I can find on this thing and still struggle.  Maybe it will just take more time and study to really get the hang of this beast.

    Frustrated!
