I purchased A pro 106 and was struggling to program it, had my local radio shack clone it with theirs. Works excellent but I wanted to go more into the features this radio offers And knew I would struggle further using just the manual that came with the radio. I came across this site to order a case with swivel belt clip (which I did get) and saw this book (which I did not get then) but really wanted after reading the other review on here, so when the wife asked what I wanted for a gift this year at christmas I knew exactly what I wanted and ordered this manual and the usb programming cable from scanner masters. Although I have not done any other programming yet I feel very confident with this manual I will be able to do it as this book shows step by step(with excellent color pictures of what you are doing). Glad I found this site as this is my fourth purchase from scanner masters and the service and product quality are the best of the best, and I know I will be back. Thanks Mike

Quick Resource In Print Form

If your a fan of Mark's website and use it regularly to read up on your scanner, then you might want to pick up a printed copy of the "Easier to Read Manual."
At first, I was caught by what I felt was a bit high price, but I've read enough on the website to know there is tons of useful information. So I ordered the printed manual for my Pro 106 / Pro 197.
Once it arrived, I found it to be put together well. Professionally printed and bound. All the info from the website in a nice clean printed manual. I understand the cost a bit more now, having looked through the manual. It's full color and that costs money to print. On top of that, the reseller has to make a profit on it as well.
Overall, I'm happy with this printed manual and glad I can throw it in a backpack when I'm not around the Internet!
