I purchased this antenna for my BCD436HP. It has improved reception some but not as much as I had hoped. I live in a fairly well populated area so reception isn't a big issue. I was trying to improve reception in the fringe areas. Reception seems good with this antenna but it doesn't swivel like the antenna that comes with the Home Patrol scanner which makes positioning it difficult
