The pre-amplifier can be powered by any source of 12V DC (11 to 13V), e.g. a wall charger/adapter 12V/100mA or more, or a station 13.5V power supply or a battery. The power is fed via a separate wire to the feedthrough capacitor on the preamp.

good preamp
I am using this Preamp to counter the effects of a long run of R-8X coax. I have a marine band vertical that I am using for AIS reception and I wanted the best signal that I could get and this amp helps. I have located it in a protective covering at the antenna. It requires a 12 VDC supply to operate.I am happy with the setup and low power consumption.
