I have FIVE of these! NOTHING better for monitoring civil/mil air freqs. I have dedicated UHF and VHF airband antennas but I always go back to the Watson Air Gainer. Flexible enough it does not get caught in my video gear when shooting air shows. I can feed audio from scanner right into video camera and count on no dropouts from a stock rubber duckie. HIGHLY recommend!

W-901 is a very good antenna
I purchased a Watson W-901 antenna from Scanner Master on 12-01-2014 to use on my Uniden BC72XLT that I use to monitor aviation and some public safety frequencies. This antenna makes my radio receive much better than the stock multi-band antenna that came with the radio, especially on aviation frequencies. I live about four miles northeast of Cobb County Airport-McCollum Field and I can pick up the AWOS information on the frequency of 128.125 MHz from my house with the W-901 antenna. I couldn't hear any voice audio on this frequency even with the squelch rolled all the way off while using the radio at my home with the stock antenna on radio. The W-901 is much more flexible than the stock antenna that came with the radio and seems to make my BC72XLT receive the VHF and UHF bands much better too! I highly recommend this product if you need better reception on a hand held scanner when listening to VHF-Air, VHF-Hi and UHF frequencies.This was a very worthwhile purchase.
