LIM-01 is a RF power protection device designed to prevent large and damaging RF power levels destroy sensitive receiving equipment such as multicouplers, pre-amplifiers and scanning receivers, specifically those devices installed in proximity to transmit antennas.
It also provide additional protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD) introduced on to the antenna system originating from wind driven ESD build-up and to those ESD from nearby lightning storms. However, it is not a Lightening Protection Device and can not withstand direct lightening hits.
In its linear region, insertion loss (IL) is less than 0.3 dB over its broad frequency range and respond in about 10 nsec. to incident ESD events.The LIM-01 is typically connected in the antenna feed-line ahead of the device to be protected, multcouplers, receivers, preamplifiers, etc.
