5 of 5 For the money - excellent scanner! March 9, 2011

I have owned my BCT15X for over 1 year and it has preformed flawlessly. Easy to program with FreeScan or ProScan. I have multiple scanners and use the BCT15X primarily for monitoring 800mhz EDACS systems (Utica & Rome). The scanner also performs well monitoring VHF & UHF (Military) aircraft. Good scanner for the money!

5 of 5 BCT15X - impressed January 10, 2010

I had previously owned a BCT15, but sold it..
Recently purchased this BCT15X, and found realized what I had been missing out on.
The Programming is easy, but manually, and using a program.
GPS with the BCT15X is great! - I like how the red alert light turns on when in a set distance of a danger crossing or road when programmed.
The newest firmware upgrade has the UID (unit id display).. This is for use with trunked systems.
It displays the units radios.. for example   i13123.    You can save that UID in the scanner just like you would a trunked channel, and when ever that id shows up.. it will read what you program it as..
so instead if i13123.. you will see" shrf 6 beat"

The one thing I wish I could do, is have the lights on the scanner programmable to turn on with certain alerts.

Overall a 5 star. No issues, and very easy to use compared to scanners of the past.
Very easy to switch from system to system, or group to group..
