The regulator in mine failed and put 12 volts to the 6 volt port on my scanner. Next thing I knew I smelled burnt electronics and the scanner would no longer power up. Right now it's at Uniden and so far it has cost me $50.00 for them just to look at it and hopefully it can be fixed. I don't recommend this item.
Failed cost me an expensive scanner repair
