When you order this Bearcat Scanner with its HomeTown Programming Package you receive the scanner programmed by Scanner Master's national frequency experts, ready-to-go for your monitoring enjoyment in your hometown. We will program it for the city/county of the billing address on your credit card unless you e-mail us first and let us know the city/county for which you wish to have the radio programmed.

The programming includes the local police and fire frequencies and the county sheriff/police and fire frequencies. Occasionally we will add a little more at our discretion. If you wish to have the scanner programmed as well for State Police/Highway Patrol, nearby cities and counties, EMS channels and more, then additional programming charges will apply. To learn the cost of such extra programming, send an e-mail to support@scannermaster.com listing the state, county and local agencies that you would like to add. Include the radio you are interested in purchasing along with this as well. We will get back to you with a quote for the work.

If you have any special requests or information you would like to pass along about the what you would like programmed or the frequencies in your area, please include them in the Order Comments field which is available to you during the order/checkout process. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to make use of the information, or do so for the HomeTown programming price, but we will do our best. Some programming requests we cannot meet for the HomeTown price. For example if you would like all the programming for a major city, particularly for low-end models which require programming to be done by hand, we will need to work with you to refine your options.

If you are unsure whether a basic, low-cost, scanner will work in your area, or whether you need a trunking or a digital-trunking radio, please send an e-mail to us at support@scannermaster.com telling us where the scanner will be used (city/county/state).

If you do not check with us first and we receive your order and we determine that the radio you've chosen is not advanced enough for the radio systems in your area (for example if you live in a digital area and you've selected a non-digital model), we may contact you and make other suggestions when we are about to program the radio or we may make the determination to go ahead with the programming and supply systems that are still monitorable in your area. This is at our discretion. If you are unsure if the scanner will work in your area, please send e-mail to support@scannermaster.com or check radioreference.com in the rrdatabase section to make your own determination and/or contact your local sources.

Of course you can also order the SC230 radio without programming as well.

Important Notes: HomeTown Programming may add two to three weeks for delivery for your order due to the tremendous demand for this time and labor intensive service.  Once programmed, HomeTown radios are returnable only for a store credit or exchange within 14 days of delivery for the price of the radio only. Programming fees are not refundable or creditable. (Re-stocking charges may apply if the radio, accessories or the packaging are not returned in original condition.)
