    Product Description

The new Uniden BCD996P2 may look the same as its similarly named predecessor, the 996XT. It offers both APCO 25 Phase I and II digital capability. For those who like GPS scanning, a feature no other manufacturer offers, you can now enable and disable not only Systems but Groups as well depending on your location (the optional GPS antenna that we sell is required). The radio now offers a band-scope feature, a Fire Tone Out search feature to help you determine the tone out frequencies being used, improved Close Call, APCO-25 NAC code decoding, and more. The 996P2 is a big leap forward with APCO 25 Phase I & II digital.

DMR & Provoice for your BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 scanner is now available!

Now available for "P2" series scanners is the ability to monitor unencrypted DMR/MotoTRBO and EDACS ProVoice. This option allows monitoring these exciting systems if they are used in your area. ProVoice is used by many public safety systems around the country. DMR/TRBO is used mostly by business users but is also used by many public safety and local government systems.

If your area uses DMR/TRBO or ProVoice then these upgrades will help you increase your monitoring ability.

    Nice! January 21, 2017
Reviewer: David Goodnough from Livingston County, NY United States
Bought this due to the county changing over to a new TDMA Motorola Type 2 system. Glad I got it when I did! The old scanner went silent.

This is my 2nd digital scanner but my first Type 2. It is doing a great job so far and have no complaints. The P2 is a great quality scanner with great audio on the new system.

If you are new to scanners or are learning how to use and program these DMA scanners, be patient as it is different from older direct program type scanners from the old days. There is a wealth of information on the Radioreference pages in the wiki section as well as other users in the discussion forums.

In all, this is and excellent scanner and a must if you live in a location where a type 2 system is used. This is my 2nd scanner purchase from ScannerMaster and I have have no issues with them each time.

996 phase two police scanner May 3, 2016
Reviewer: Dwayne McNutt from Hiltons , VA United States
I have had this scanner for a few weeks now and I love it. I had several scanners before this one but some of the counties close to me had gone to a knew radio system which required me to get this scanner. I love the scanner and I am glad I finally found the one for me. When you are blind you have to take certain things in to consideration such as will I be able to tell one button from another? The only thing is not knowing if there is accessible software that will work with a screen reader in order for me to update the frequencies and firmware so for now I sent it back to Scannermaster whenever a frequency changes. Greg Jolly is the best. Extremely patient.

    Uniden BCD996P2 Scanner December 26, 2015
Reviewer: Robert Young from Buda, TX United States
I am pleased with my Uniden BCD996P2 Trunk Tracker 5 Scanner  and the Scanner Master P-25 programing.  The Scanner is very much like my old but "beloved" BCT 15X Trunk Tracker 3 scanner.  A real work horse with a wonderful color display and easy to read large screen.

    BCD992P2 December 19, 2015
Reviewer: Patrick Spencer from Sunnyvale, CA United States
The BCD992P2 is difficult to program unless you have a computer program which is also lacking.  Once you get it programed it's great.  The manual is very difficult to use.  The author needs to hand the manual to someone that has never used the scanner and see if they can program the scanner.
