I have a 30 year background in public safety from dispatcher to fire chief. I purchased three of these speakers for my new home after having it pre-wired by a professional audio contractor complete with wall jacks. After plugging in my speakers being fed with a Uniden scanner, I was soon disappointed. The sound quality was tinny with poor frequency range, high and low tones were distorted. I then decided to compare them to an old Motorola and Midland speaker from mobile radios. Those mobile speakers worked great even though they were over 25 years of age and had seen many hours of use. The volume was twice as loud as the ScannerMaster speakers referred to by name as Watson. I was hoping these speakers would be just what I was looking for. For instance they had volume control and nice a ten foot cords, but I can’t understand what is being said so they are useless.
