Programming December 31, 2017 Reviewer: Robert Nichelini from Oakland, CA United States   The G4/G5 radios have worked so well for me I purchased three units (much better than Home Patrol).  I was particularly pleased with Duane who did the programming.  He called me to discuss programming options and ensure that the radio would operate to my complete satisfaction.  He also made himself available to answer questions after the programming was completed and I had received and tested the unit. Perfect P25 Simulcast FUN September 1, 2017 Reviewer: thanksunication from Chicago-land   The below complaints aren't "reviews" just gripes about a failed set-up attempt and that a certain city has phase II. That says nothing about the quality of the product compared to other "scanners" Sadly, the Unication phase 2 upgrade is delayed to maybe 2018 now. To avoid "out of range" problems There are 3-4 things needed to set the SITE/SYSTEM up right from Radio Reference website database. You also need to keep up on any SYSTEM or SITE changes. Once done? reception is rock solid. I went through 6 different counties with 7 different P25 SITES of the same system and NEVER lost the signal using the stubby antenna, pager just sitting IN the drink holder. No outside antenna even needed. Updates and upgrades may be slow with Unication, but the product is WAY superior to common "scanners" on the market now when it comes to P25 Simulcast. Worth every dollar and more when P25 Phase II finally does get added. Was this review helpful to you?

Unication G4 Pager-Receiver July 30, 2017 Reviewer: William Johnson from Gahanna, OH United States   As a casual but long time scanner listener, I was disappointed when my county (Franklin, Ohio) switched to the P25 "simulcast" system.  My GRE500 and GRE600 scanners could not receive a "clear" signal from any talk group, including my local police (Gahanna, Ohio), or traffic was missed completely.   Following suggestions to "degrade" the scanners' antennas made no difference. I learned of the Unication pager-receivers from a Scannermaster newsletter and the description of these units sounded like the solution to my problem.  After some "internet investigation", I decided to purchase the G4 model. After about a month of use, the unit has indeed solved my problem of erratic reception.  All programmed talk groups sound crisp and clear.  No traffic is missed, so far as I can tell.  The solid "commercial" design and small size make it a pleasure to handle.   Everything considered, my opinion is that the unit is well worth the cost. P-25 Phase 2 June 15, 2017 Reviewer: Mark Gould from Philadelphia, PA United States   I would be very interested in purchasing this receiver but I noticed it don't receive P-25 Phase 2 which most police are using. Philadelphia PD, Bucks Co. PD, in PA. and Camden Co. NJ. are all TDMA Digital (P-25 Phase-2) Was this review helpful to you?
