Wow Factor

Reviewer: David Carlson from Bloomington, MN United States
Just received my WPN-97 Nomad Base Antenna and I give it the wow factor. Incredible unit for City use and beyond. Easy to use and install a breeze.
The only advice I can give is, give it a try.
Thanks Scanner Master

Much Better than Stock Antenna
March 27, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
I purchased a WPN-97 Nomad antenna a couple of weeks ago, and I'm impressed with it.
I've never had any trouble receiving local signals, but couldn't hear much outside the city that I live in.
The reason I bought the Nomad was to try to pull in distant signals from police and fire departments in other communities.
Since buying the Nomad I have been able to pick up police and fire communications from various small towns with in a 25 to 40 mile radius that I could never hear with the stock rubber duckie.
The Nomad is probally not as good as an outside antenna(I'm using the Nomad inside) , but its definately better than a stock antenna.
To sum up, if you only listen to local communication and have no problem listening in with what your using now, you probally won't see much difference with the Nomad, but if you want to try and pull in some weak signals and aren't able to put up a permanent outside antenna...the Nomad might be what your looking for.

cheap, the inline amp is not made to last. my experience was total disatisfaction. I learned not to take shortcuts when you are a true scanner\wideband reciever freak.. this product is overpriced and unreliable.

No noticeable increase in performance...

As a matter of fact, I can't hear my local police station just 2.5 miles down the street as well as using the standard antenna that came with my PSR-600. Don't waste your money on this antenna. I have heard that the powered version of this antenna works better. It definitely can't work any worse.
By the way Mr Salesman, I sure hope I didn't bother you by calling and asking a simple question. I could hear you speaking to someone else while I was trying to talk to you. Real Classy!!!
