3 of 5 Antenna is ok October 28, 2015

The antenna itself is sturdy and does improve trunking scanning. Only downfall is the swivel isn't tight so once the antenna is attached to the scanner, if you move the scanner the slightest the antenna falls over. Aside from that I would recommend the antenna for better improved trunking scanning.

2 of 5 No gain in reception July 27, 2012

I got this thinking  the price tag and the claims of a gain in 800MHz reception would mean something better.NOT! If anything it is worse than the standard antenna. The RS 800MHz rubber ducky is a much better deal for the money with better results.Save your money and don't experiment with this one.

2 of 5 Broken pin after two months July 14, 2012
Reviewer: J.B. from Ellabell, GA United States
Well, I would like to say that this antenna works well but since this is the second one that I've bought I'm begining to wonder if i should buy another. I'm gonna call and see if i can get a refund or maybe a replacement. Would be great if the pin wouldnt break on the connector!

4 of 5 Broken Male Pin on BNC also June 7, 2012
Reviewer: Joseph Daly from San Francisco, CA United States
I too had the same problem wth the Male Pin on the BNC breaking off after 2 days of using it. However, I did get an RMA from Scanner Master & it was VERY quickly replaced. Just beginning to wonder if this is a problem with the design of that male pin connection on the BNC, we'll see if the replacement works out OK.

3 of 5 800 HHz February 27, 2011

I was so excited to try this antenna since I live in an area that not only has poor P 25 reception but is the only jurisdiction currently using FDMA which no scanners can decode. (That is not exactly true but that is another story entirely) However while removing the unit from my 996 XT scanner, the male end (the pin) broke off and I seem to be having trouble getting Scanner Masters to replace the antenna because I did not first request a "return number" before returning the unit. Oh well I guess I will get a replacement one day but in the meantime I have purchased a another one and hope to provide a better review. That all said, in the 12 hours I used the unit it did seem to work better than the usual digital antenna from Radio Shack but I certainly I am going to need more time to test this out.
