Many scanning monitor receivers suffer from interference on the VHF Air Band 118-138MHz, especially when connected to external base antennas such as Discone’s, etc. The use of wide band RF antenna RX pre-amplifiers, particularly those without special band pass filtering may often make matters even worse! Interference is quite common from the following sources: FM Broadcast Band 88-108MHz, Paging Frequencies around153MHz, RX ONLY Shortwave, PMR, etc. The SSE Band Pass Filter ABF0604 will greatly reduce the problems and in some cases totally eliminate them. A great deal of attention has been given into achieving a minimum of insertion loss in the 118-138MHz band.
