Set-up & Optimize Package Option
With Scanner Master's exclusive Set-up & Optimize Package option we see to it that your PSR-700 scanner is fully updated and ready to use for your area, perfect for your own use and especially perfect for a gift. First we optimize the internal database by updating the frequency library, which changes daily. We will also check and install any firmware updates to the PSR-700 before the radio ships. (The firmware is the operating system for the radio which may have been updated or tweaked by the factory following its production in Asia.) Scanner Master will then build a Customization List for the customer (based on the ship to address of your order), or for the area in which the scanner will be used if the customer specifies a different city and county (for example if the radio is given as a gift).

 Scanner Master will also pre-tune the radio by entering the users state, county and city.

(The benefit of this List work is that we insure that the most important data to the user is easily accessible with the clearest alpha-tagging possible of the channels which makes the radio easier and more enjoyable to use.)

Note that to perform this update of the firmware and database and to preset the systems for your area, the SD memory card must be removed from the scanner and loaded onto a PC where a software updater is run. Scanner Master handles this operation for you; however, it is not terribly difficult and customers can perform these functions on their own if they prefer.)

The charge for this service is $39.95 if the scanner is purchased from Scannermaster and $49.95 for customers that already have purchased the scanner elsewhere.

(The benefit of this Scan List work is that we insure that the most important data to the user is readily accessible and the text tag for the agencies are edited and easy to read and understand as sometimes the abbreviations or the manner in which the data was originally entered can make deciphering the agency names somewhat difficult.) Set-up & Optimize generally adds 2 to 3 business days to the amount of time to ship your order as it does require time. During peak holiday periods this time may be extended.
